A certain interview has been spreading around the internet like wildfire recently. It contains Mark Hamill, JJ Abrams and Kevin Smith on an episode of IFC's chat series Dinner for Five from back in 2005. http://www.geek.com/news/mark-hamill-pitched-evil-luke-skywalker-to-star-wars-director-jj-abrams-1637664/. In it Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars films, states that he had assumed his character would turn evil after the Empire Strikes Back. He states that he brought up the idea to George Lucas where it was shot down. It's interesting to note that the director of the upcoming Star Wars film, Abrams, is also present in the interview. With the recent rumors that Luke might be evil in the new trilogy of films, it's interesting to note that the idea may have stemmed from an interview ten years ago. Whether it's a good idea or not, to take the main hero of the original trilogy and have him finally succumb to the dark side, we will have to wait until December 18. If the rumor is true that is.
Speak your mind. We won't judge you.
