Hollywood made a comedy that's actually funny and no one went to see it? I guess this one's on the audience. Come on people, support originality over watching the umpteenth version of star wars.

Maybe it was poor targeting. The poster makes it seem like a Justin Bieber movie and no adult wants to watch anything that even remotely resembles him. On the other hand, the young generation loves Justin and wouldn't like anyone dissing him. It was destined to be a cult classic from the start (if it makes it).

Cult classic as in failed commercial release, but strong continuing DVD sales. Hell, even I feel like watching it now. Great job, larnerholt. Lol.

This is where I tell you I'm actually Andy Samberg. Mwhahahahaha. No, seriously, you're completely right on the cult classic. It totally feels like that even when you're watching. It was destined to fail and have nerds like me rave about it until people buy the DVD.

I know, right? That's the saddest thing about this. So much crap is thrown out there, and then something good is made and no-one bothers going. So why would they keep making good things?

Wow, only $9 million? That's pathetic even for Andy Samberg.

Yeah, I know. Here in the UK it was only shown for a week. I kind of feel bad for him because he's a funny guy.

The trailer seemed hilarious but I never got around to watch it. Now I'll have to see it!

Yeah I'd definitely recommend it (obviously). Were you a fan of Hot Rod?

It's a good film. Very silly, but funny. It wasn't particularly successful on release but has become a bit of a cult classic, which, as yukayou said, is probably going to happen with Popstar. If you like comedies it's well worth a watch.

Just finished watching it. It was hilarious! Laughed pretty hard during some moments, especially where Connor is asked to autograph the dick hanging from the car window.

Hot Rod is one of my favorite comedies ever. Now that you reminded me, I need to watch it again lol.

Hot Rod is hilarious. Being made by the same people, Popstar is obviously pretty similar. That said, I probably laughed more at Popstar than Hot Rod on first viewing.
