"A former super-hero decides to reboot her life by becoming a private investigator."
What I loved:
Again, Marvel and Netflix perfectly bring the MCU into dark and gritty territory with Jessica Jones.
The main character:
For the most part, the character of Jessica Jones was ok, it wasn't as amazing as Daredevil, but she still has a unique kind of flavor that brings something new to the MCU.
The supporting cast:
I loved the supporting cast. Especially Jessica's sister/best-friend was a really awesome character and you can't just help but feel she'll become a mask vigilante in future seasons. (In the comics, her character becomes a superhero named 'Hellcat') Luke Cage was also awesome to see, didn't really feel much for his character, but I still would like to see him in his own solo series. Also, Claire (the nurse that helped out Daredevil) appears later in the series, which kinda makes her the Nick Fury of the Netflix MCU. All she needs is to meet Iron Fist.
The villain:
Here is where it gets really good. Kilgrave was such an amazing villain, definitely one of the top 3 MCU villains so far. He was terrifying, menacing, yet also charming in a sense. Just like Daredevil, there are some scenes that almost makes us root for the bad guy, or at least relate to why he's doing all of this bad things. In there last confrontation, I actually felt sorry for Kilgrave. Even though how much of a sociopath he is, he truly loves Jessica, which ultimately lead to his demise. Also, this series has ruined David Tenant as the Doctor for me, every time I see him, I see the guy that licked Jessica's face. Yeah.
Things I Hated
Story:
Sometimes along the story, it kinda felt slow or boring, but it does pick up when Kilgrave finally gets more screen time. There are also times in the series where there blunders seem to dumb or unfortunate. But then again, Jessica isn't some kind of genius superhero so we'll give her that. Compared to Daredevil, Jessica Jones gives more time in setting up some other possible story lines for the TV MCU. Which is good, but sometime it takes you out of the story, especially if you're not too familiar with Marvel Comics.
Fight Scenes and Powers:
Now, I just can't help but compare this with Daredevil. In the Daredevil the fight scenes were gritty, fast paced, and quite awesome. In Jessica Jones however, it's kinda sloppy and didn't really have that much of an awesome factor compared that to Daredevil. But still it makes sense since Jessica or even Luke Cage aren't really trained fighters so their combat skills are more just brute force rather than some impressive acrobatics or calculated hits.
The powers on the other hand, for me personally, should've been done better. Jessica Jones has super strength, I just wished they found more creative ways in showcasing her strength, rather than just bending some metal bars, throwing dudes a couple feet, or breaking down some thin walls or glass.
The villain:
They killed him off. Yeah, didn't like that. But then again I don't see any kind of outcome that Kilgrave would actually live in the end. Eh.
Overall, Jessica Jones was still an amazing series. It had its slow points and some iffy parts, but it's still an awesome addition to the MCU.
