Exactly!! They could've started with the team fighting Savage (which could've showcased his ruthlessness) and someone from the team, preferably White Canary or Captain Cold being hit, the team retreating, and the recounting of events by Rip Hunter in a broken timeline approach. That is, if they wanted to jump right into the LoT team 5 minutes into episode 1. Or they could've taken at least half the episode to assemble the team.
But what makes this look bad is the fact that there are 9 or so people out to kill one guy. Who was already killed before in the Arrow/Flash crossover episode. So, technically, all they had to do was to go back to the point in time where he's killed by the Arrow & Flash, bottle the remains and be done with it! Why a whole season to do the same thing that was done in 2 episodes of Arrow & Flash.
Lol, he was turned to dust, but then Malcolm Merlyn is shown picking up his ashes saying "now, you owe me one buddy" or something. And they said in LoT that if Vandal Savage is not killed by the hands of Hawkgirl or Hawkman, he can be revived again even from a single cell. So, it's implied that the League of Assassins revives him in the future.
Hmm, Mad Max: Fury Road could be the best action movie of the year. But definitely NOT the best picture! It's just a ton of action during the to and fro trip from the citadel. The movie was incredible fun, but it just doesn't have a plot.
DDL's Christy Brown and Daniel Plainview were extraordinary characters. But an Oscar for Lincoln?! Nah, other than the fact that he looked almost like how Lincoln looks in his portraits, the role simply didn't have enough firepower for him to deserve that Oscar.
Aw yeah, Carrell looked genuinely frustrated with the system. As for Christian Bale's Burry -- I'd quote Tom Curise from Tropic Thunder, a nutless monkey could've done his role. Lol.
Ryan Gosling did a pretty good job as well; He was almost an entirely different person. Too bad he's not considered to be such a bankable actor when compared with the likes of Brad Pitt and Christian Bale.
It's an alternate universe where the Nazis dropped an A-Bomb on Washington D.C; and Nagasaki was still a "beautiful city". The United States has since been divvied up between the victors of WW-II as the Japanese Pacific States in the west, the Greater Nazi Reich in the east and the Rocky Mountain States a.k.a the Neutral Zone.
