Bahubali has redefined the meaning of EPICness for Indian movies. Although the graphics could have been better and the last fight was shorter than what I expected, the movie is a new chapter in Indian cinema. I expect more movies to follow this line in the near future. This will hopefully give a boost to the quality of Indian animation as well.
Did anyone notice that Bahubali and Devasana were using cheat codes during the arrow fight in the corridor. They definitely used the 'unlimited arrow' cheat code. Poor enemy soliders. They never stood a chance.
LOL @ the Benny Hinn comment. Anyway, I have so many questions.
1. Why does episode 3 remind me of inception?
2. In Episode 4, why did the division three guys start shooting when they trapped Syd, Ptonomy and Kerry? Don't they want them alive?
3. Also, is it just me or does anyone else think that Kerry looks like she could be Aubrey Plaza's sister? Also, Aubrey Plaza would make a great Joker!!!
4. Rachel Keller was not a great choice for Syd. She seems to be more focused on looking glamorous than being a good actor.
Aubrey Plaza for The Joker!!
Saw the first episode and gotta say "not bad" lol. Seems well made and kinda made me get a vibe to that of watching Mr Robot. Also, the last scene where they try to escape and meet Ms Bird reminds me of a scene from the 2013 Tomb Raider game.
I was thinking that he's gonna kill off one girl per episode but was pleasantly surprised when the numbers greatly reduced in episode 4. I guess there's more awesomeness in store. Like how it's going so far.
lol you definitely have a point there. I watched the first episode and it totally made sense that Danny Rand should have been a white guy. Being an asian guy who was the heir to an american corporation makes as much sense as telling me that Alibaba is owned by a white guy.
Saw it on Netflix the other day and the suggested rating Netflix had for me was about 1 or 2 stars so I avoided it. Was the martial arts sequences all that bad? For a martial arts themed show, its a given that the martial arts should be top notch and if the hero can't deliver, people will hate. Also IIRC, there was a racial issue associated with this show in that they expected the lead character to be asian but a white guy was cast instead.
I think you nailed it. Old fans + New fans helped it get to box office success for sure and I'm sure Emma Watson was also a factor. Somehow, Disney has figured the way to Box Office Success in recent years. Look at all the Marvel movies and the Star Wars movies. All of them are super hits!
