Never seen the 5th wave and not sure I plan to after seeing the trailer. Seems like a good movie to watch on bad movie night though. With a big group of friends and some beers, making fun of the movie more than we actually watch it :) You are right though, If they didn't go the teenage apocalyptic utopian society romance route the trailer might've pulled me in to go see it.
“Blindness” is a good reflection about humanity as a whole, and its cinematography really works to bring up that uncomfortable feeling. Everything is really white and bright at the beginning, but gets darker and darker as time progresses
After watching "Bridesmaids" earlier this year, I was actually quite surprised to see a film that I usually would have flagged as a "chick flick" make me laugh and leave the theatre thinking I just watched an overall quality comedy. I always found that Hollywood liked keeping this stereotypical division between these "raunchy guy comedies" and "corny chick flicks".
I saw Concussion and I felt the same way about Will Smith's acting. After awhile, I forgot he was Will Smith and just thought of him as being the very passionate Dr. Omalu. The rest of the cast was wonderful and the storyline flowed well. As a person that had no prior knowledge of the true story behind Concussion, I was well entertained and learned a lot about the NFL.
Well I guess it's Netflix but it's been out for a while and its available in a lot of languages. The production quality is awesome and seems to be heavily influenced by several animes. I think they took anything that worked in other animes to make this one a success...
